UNTHA service operation makes Saubermacher plant fit again
An XR3000C shredding machine from UNTHA shredding technology has been in use at the Saubermacher Dienstleistungs AG site in Vienna since 2017. It was recently due for a major service with rotor replacement, which was expertly carried out by the UNTHA service team. The production plant manager explains what the advantages of a service visit from the manufacturer are for the customer.
The current service call was about ensuring the smooth operation of the XR3000C for another two years. “The machine has been in operation with us since 2017 and now has 14 000 operating hours on its account. Various wear parts had to be replaced, the biggest chunk was the replacement of the rotor,“ explains Thomas Birkner. At the Saubermacher site in Vienna, the XR shredder processes commercial and bulky waste into material < 110 mm, which is used as substitute fuel for the cement industry. Around 80 000 t/a are processed in 3-shift operation.
In addition to regular maintenance work, another tool from UNTHA keeps the XR machine running. “Since we have been using the UNTHA GENIUS platform, we have also been able to optimise performance with the assistance system. The key figures and data obtained not only help us to tune components correctly, but also to plan maintenance intervals optimally,“ Thomas Birkner emphasises.
The great advantage of service from the manufacturer for UNTHA customers is that they get everything from a single source, as Emanuel Seidl, Head of Key Account Management and Spare Part Service at UNTHA shredding technlogy, confirms: “Our customers can be sure that we will achieve the best possible result for the machines in use thanks to our expert know-how and the installation of UNTHA original spare parts.“ This was also the case with the current service call at Saubermacher in Vienna: “We were already at the customer‘s site for an inspection in advance to get an overall picture of the condition of the machine so that we could then carry out the necessary overhaul work during the planned shutdown,“ says Emanuel Seidl. In the meantime, the XR3000C shredder is running smoothly again and is ready for another 2 years in the processing of refuse-derived fuel.
