ARJES Titan 900 shreds a wide variety of materials, from wood residues to bulky refuse
More and more users with a wide variety of application requirements are successfully using ARJES systems. A good example is the Hartsteinwerk Gihl GmbH from Eppelborn in the Saarland. For three generations, this successful medium-sized company has been serving customers from industry as well as the public and private sectors.
Today, Gihl is a certified specialist company for demolition and recycling. Among the main pillars of the company‘s versatile business fields are the operation of several landfills. This also includes maintaining its own recycling lines.
Convinces by performance
In this segment, the company now relies on an ARJES Titan 900. The application possibilities of the twin-shaft shredder of the ARJES performance class are tailor-made for Gihl. This is because the certified recycling company processes a wide variety of delivered materials, from wood residues to household waste and bulky waste – often in immediate succession. The shredding of such heterogeneous materials presents many plants with major problems. With the ARJES Titan 900, Gihl GmbH has a true „omnivore“ that can shred all tasks without any conversion. The Titan 900, which was only introduced in mid-2021 as a short version of the proven ARJES Titan 950, has already made itself indispensable in Gihl‘s material turnover.

To be able to guarantee a wide range of applications with the best results, the Titan shredders have powerful attributes: A Volvo Penta engine of the EU V emission level, which is considered the current technical standard of the premium class, supplies the Titan with 550 hp. Adapted to the most adverse operating conditions, the ARJES Titan 900 has a spiral fan as standard. With its self-cleaning fan, the machine thus ensures optimum air circulation and dirt reduction in the engine compartment – resulting in significantly reduced maintenance requirements in continuous operation.
Convinces through simplicity
An innovative SCU control system including remote control enables predefined shredding profiles to be unwound and allows pre-programmed adjustment of the shaft travel. This makes practical plug-and-play operation extremely simple, especially with changing feed materials. „It is not uncommon today for user-friendly operability and thus operational efficiency to stand or fall precisely with these features,“ knows Sven Brookshaw, Managing Director of Moerschen Mobile Processing. A simple but highly effective mode of operation also determines the extended possibilities of the Titan series. The advanced shaft design of the shredder meets even the most difficult requirements.

However, should new tasks come up for the ARJES Titan 900, the possibilities can be effectively optimised via a total of three different shaft types – for concrete or metal, for example. For this case, the ARJES Titan is equipped with a shaft quick-change system that is unique on the market and with which the adjustments can be realised in the shortest possible time. In addition to virtually uninterrupted use, the modular cassette system of the shafts simplifies maintenance of the machine.
Countless applications can be found in the construction and demolition trades, in the shredding of mixed scrap. Depending on the feed material, the output capacities range from 30 t/h for highly heterogeneous mixed scrap to 200 t/h for construction waste or scrap wood. The longer body of the Titan 950 even allows complete car bodies to be fed in one piece. The Titan 900 owes its exceptional manoeuvrability when manoeuvring in confined spaces in the recycling hall or in the yard to its short crawler chassis. With its compact overall dimensions and a weight of only 35 t, the machine is also ideally suited for low-loader transport. The overall ARJES Titan 900 package as an extension of the ARJES performance class also fits perfectly into the portfolio of Moerschen Mobile Aufbereitung – especially since ARJES also has the Titan 900 in its range as a stationary, electrically operated unit.
