Leiblein: treatment plants for wastewater
from grease traps and pits
Process flow designed for high efficiency
The service provider’s suction vehicles deliver the different wastewaters to the Luz headquarters, where they are collected in storage tanks. The feeding-in is accompanied by the homogenization of the liquid substances. A wastewater pump conveys the wastewater flow into a first reaction vessel, a component of a pendulum system. Here, the further chemical and physical handling occurs in three steps. First, the pH value is corrected and adjusted. By adding a precipitant, the separation of the free, dispersed and partly dissolved impurities occurs. The precipitant has been modified especially for this task. In a third treatment step, a flocculant will be added. Once the reactions are concluded, the flocculated material reaches the Leiblein vacuum belt filter. On the one hand, this enables the separation of the processed wastewater filtrate into the sewer via an inspection shaft; on the other hand, Luz can correctly dispose the dewatered sludge.
Purely mechanical separation of filtrate and sludge
The Continuous Vacuum Belt Filter (CVBF) used at Luz, which is equipped with a continuous filter belt made of plastic (stainless steel is also possible), separates the medium in a purely mechanical way. Chemical changes do not occur, at the same time, feeding-in and filtration take place very gently and without destruction of the flakes. Due to the vacuum-assisted filtration, higher throughput capacities as well as better drainage of the filter cake can be achieved compared to hydrostatical filters. The wastewater treatment plant in the certified disposal company Werner Luz GmbH met the expectations in every respect. In addition, the installation work could be reduced to a few days, due to the exact preliminary planning and the modular structure. “This was very important for us, since we were able to, more or less, seamlessly fulfil our drainage tasks. Another point was the uncomplicated integration of the Leiblein plant into our existing system and the prospect of integrating future adaptation and change requests without problems”, as Managing Director Armin Luz emphasized.
