weycor AR 680 wheel loader for long-term use
Whether working in a biogas plant, in a quarry, in agriculture or in construction, the weycor AR 680 wheel loader is powerful and reliable everywhere.
The enormous power is delivered by a 6-cylinder Deutz engine with 160 KW/218 HP. The engine operates with a sound power level of 69 dB(A). There is real silence in the cab. One of the aims in designing the wheel loader was to reduce fuel consumption. This is achieved by reducing the engine speed and generously dimensioned hydraulic components. The electronically controllable individual components communicate with each other. The effect is that only as much power is called up as the task requires. This reduces consumption. In addition, weycor is the only manufacturer with a separate inching pedal. Unlike the combined brake/inching pedal, the risk of driving against the service brake is eliminated. A generously dimensioned inching range enables the sensitive distribution of thrust and lifting forces. The result is less wear and lower fuel consumption.

Supplying biogas plants on the move
This weycor AR 680 supplies the biogas plant of Jörn Ahlers Bioenergie GmbH & Co. KG in Wildeshausen in the Oldenburg region. It produces around 2.3 million m³ of biogas per year. There are plans to expand the plant to be able to produce 8.2 million m³. According to the plan, this is to be processed into biomethane and fed into the gas grid. The wheel loader uses a 3.5 m³ high-tipping bucket to remove material from the silage pile and fill the plant. Around 40 m³ per day are required to generate the planned energy. The 680 AR is also used for other work on the plant. “The weycor is fast, narrow and maneuverable. That‘s what we need here. It also has enough power to work with the large bucket,” says Sven Kalinna, Operations Manager.
Power on demand
The hydrostatic drive makes it possible to work in the tightest of spaces without using the brakes. The travel drive is infinitely variable up to 40 km/h and is driven by two travel motors. Both motors are engaged up to 14 km/h. The motor with the large volume is then swiveled to the zero position, and the entire oil flow is then only available to the second motor with the small volume. This avoids thermal problems. Various driving modes (optional) can also be set. In loading mode, maximum power is available at up to 2000 rpm. This means that the high speed of the work functions and dynamic acceleration and deceleration enable a high handling capacity. In pallet mode, the high engine speed also enables smooth acceleration and deceleration. This mode can also be used for shovel operation.
Stable, safe and comfortable movement
The powerful drive is also brought safely to the ground. The AR 680 has optimum traction thanks to the 100 % engageable differential lock on the front and rear axles. The weycor drives safely both on slippery construction sites and in winter on ice and snow. The articulated joint and the swing axle at the rear ensure the best off-road mobility. It is also extremely stable because it has been designed with an extremely low center of gravity.
Vibration and noise are prevented by the best weycor design. The independent gearbox suspension, which is decoupled from the axle, prevents vibration and noise.
See what is
“The all-round view from the cab gives me peace of mind. The windows and the rear are pulled down particularly far to the rear. This really gives me the best view,” says Kalinna. You can concentrate on the essentials in the cab. Clearly laid out and ergonomically arranged instruments and controls make it easy. There are also no excessive buttons, levers or touchscreens. The cab is also comfortable. An excellent seat and steering wheel that can be adjusted in height and angle – with the display swiveling precisely with it – are the basis for performance throughout the day.
