The conference will focus on the importance of increased collection of plastic waste, as a prerequisite for achieving higher recycling rates in Europe.
Keynote speakers, Kestutis Sadauskas from the European Commission and José Inácio Faria from the European Parliament, will address the current EU legislative landscape as well the implementation of the Plastics Strategy. Moreover, the speakers will evaluate the bottlenecks faced by the industry, different waste management systems as well as the sustainable collection initiatives and the importance of value chain collaboration for enabling a circular economy. Furthermore, an interactive debate will address the aspect of harmonised collection across EU.
