Award for its innovative strength

Baljer & Zembrod ranks among the TOP 100

Newly crowned innovation champion: Baljer & Zembrod GmbH & Co. KG from Altshausen has received the TOP 100 seal 2024. This award is only given to particularly innovative medium-sized companies. Science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar will personally congratulate Baljer & Zembrod on this success at the award ceremony on June 28 in Weimar.

On behalf of compamedia, the organizer of the competition, innovation researcher Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and his team examined the innovative strength of all participants on the basis of more than 100 criteria from five categories: Innovation-promoting top management, innovation climate, in-novative processes and organization, external orientation/open innovation and in-innovation success.

“Are the companies able to create new products, new services, new processes and new business models? And are these achievements just coincidences or the result of a structured and targeted approach? These are the questions we examine at TOP 100,” says Nikolaus Franke, explaining his approach to the review. It is also important how and whether innovations and product improvements have been able to establish themselves on the market (further information on the test criteria can be found at www.top100.de/pruefkriterien).

Baljer & Zembrod prevailed in the scientific selection process and is among the top innovators for the second time. The company is based in the plant engineering sector. The company has made a name for itself primarily in the field of electrically powered handling technology in both the timber and recycling industries.

In Altshausen in southern Germany, Baljer & Zembrod develops and produces its electrically powered special machines as a medium-sized company with around 80 dedicated and professional employees.

With over 60 years of experience in the use of electric drives and the consistent further development of its machines, the company creates important innovations that harmonize ecology and economy. “We are constantly expanding our market leadership through state-of-the-art technologies,” says the innovation-oriented Managing Director Peter Schaeidt. This claim is fulfilled by constantly developing new wood processing machines and electrically powered machines for the recycling sector.

On June 28, 2024, all top innovators of the year 2024, the prize has been awarded since 1993, will gather for the award ceremony as part of the German SME Summit in Weimar.
