We are excited
Dear Readers,
The issue 6/2018 is the last one of this year and a good opportunity to look back and to look forward to 2019. At the end of the year, I like to lock back at my calendar, to relive the highlights of the year, to think about what we have experienced. ... and most of the time I am amazed at how much has happened during the year. In March, the Save the Planet Congress and Fair took place in Sofia, followed by the IFAT in Munich, the BIR Convention in Barcelona, the Achema in Frankfurt, as well as a series of smaller symposia and the recently held RecylingTechnik in Dortmund. For the recovery-team, the Pollutec in Lyon is now on the program. And at all these events we came across interesting topics, met impressive personalities and learned about many new ideas and projects - which was also reflected in the contributions featured in the recovery.
Of course, such a reflection, the question immediately arises, what awaits us next year? Highlights will certainly be the Waste Expo in Las Vegas, the recyclingAKTIV in Karlsruhe and the K 2019 in Dusseldorf. However, it is especially the unexpected, smaller, but thematically even more profound events, to which one is invited during the course of the year, which always make it exciting for me to be on the road again as an editor. So let us look forward to the New Year 2019 with positive curiosity!
And of course I hope that the topics of the present issue, such as a solution for city sewage residues treatment (from p. 24), the new Atlas shredder with electric drive and intelligent energy management (from p. 44), a bottle to bottle recycling plant (from p. 34) and many more interesting contributions will offer you an enjoyable and exciting reading.
I wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 2019!
