Werner Herbold moves into active retirement
After more than 40 years of dedicated service, Managing Director Werner Herbold has entered his planned retirement.

Werner Herbold was managing director and co-owner of Herbold Meckesheim, a recycling company specialising in plants and systems for the plastics industry. Herbold Meckesheim was founded in 1884. Throughout his career, Werner Herbold has helped to improve the capabilities of plastics recycling by developing equipment for key process steps such as washing, separating, drying, shredding and pulverising. He was also actively involved in associations such as the VDMA (German Engineering Federation), and there in the Plastics and Rubber Machinery Association, as well as on the board of the VDMA Waste and Recycling Technology Association. In 2022, Herbold Meckesheim was acquired by Hillenbrand, a global industrial company based in the USA. Following the acquisition, Herbold Meckesheim joined Coperion, a company within the Advanced Process Solutions segment; together, the two offer complete recycling solutions for the plastics industry. Coperion‘s plastics recycling business is headed by General Manager Massimo Serapioni. Colleagues sincerely thank Werner Herbold for his service to the company and the industry.
